Vernon Frazer

Vernon Frazer has published twelve books of poetry, including the longpoem IMPROVISATIONS, and three books of fiction. His work has appeared in Aught, Big Bridge, Drunken Boat, Exquisite Corpse, First Intensity, Golden Handcuffs Review, Jack Magazine, Lost and Found Times, Moria, Otoliths and many other literary magazines. His most recent books are the longpoems EMBLEMATIC MOON, RANDOM AXIS, and the visual poetry collection, Panels from IMPROVISATIONS (Series B). Frazer is married and lives in South Florida.

Live Broadcast on Delay

Griddle hoofers tether on the rebound,
a prismatic trampoline waging surface
against a moribund tide. Its sage riders
purple with zany footage from the stage
left behind the pounding saga, memoirs
leaping through the carnage grates,
slowly creating a leather underground
over foot. Charismatic streakers id
ungoverned across short-term prairies, 
lurching toward the nearest preamble
stationed in the weather as forecast. 
Toward a middle scenario, discussion
roots an ankle turned, scarlet fascination
left one done. The other pruned out
the back. Depth charges grew interest,
given full credit. Rewards came after
going left. But characteristic seekers
gambled forward, even at odds ruined
by speculum intensities. The gold burn
few candles near the kindle stack,
reflective density unknown to plot
metamorphoses in transient thickets
where brambled preambles quicken
the face of slackening thought.
Space brings rejuvenation quickly
to outposted memory pageants
thick as an untuned harp’s unstringing
swirl. Muddled tonality rumbles
across its textured surface, unfurling
candelabra mendacity thick as any plot
surfacing on the brink of a reluctant
narrative whose speakers did little
resounding during the plethora of 
staked boundaries sounding on cue.

Loafing with Fishes

She can talk to fish.

A nombre pursuant to gospel shores
legends a breaded implication.

Gathered shortages remiss
their beauty, a correlative strait:
an implication, narrow as

it sounds interrogatives.
Margin shifts, old, white, justified
at center, mark the dappled
waters where voices swell

tales told from the sea.

Muttering Oaths at Loyalty 

vessel ecliptic defections 
climb leverage reciprocity gestures
radial tonnage ballads
 
under an escrow moon
pine for crossbeam decibel testers
patio masters mirror
 
watered deflections
through dilution’s addled roots
a source at rest
 
emotion knows no lattice
nor an ablative tribunal frenzy
for watercress massage
 
where its related ointments
affect the trilogy tablets whose casters
void past relations
